Jefferson Educator Named 2007 Middle School Principal of the Year
KASSP announced Noe Middle School Principal Kathy Sayre as the 2007 Kentucky Middle School Principal of the Year.
Sayre will serve as the state's nominee in the National Middle School Principals of the Year Program, sponsored by MetLife and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
Sayre has worked in different capacities at Noe Middle School in Jefferson County for 23 years and was named principal in 1999. Under her leadership, Noe Middle School has received numerous national honors including the National PTA Parent Involvement School of Excellence Award.
A panel of principals from across the state selected Sayre for this distinction for her exemplary practices in promoting collaborative leadership among teachers, staff, parents, students, and the community to achieve the school’s goals, improving the curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Sayre was named JCPS Middle School Principal of the Year in 2001, has won NASSP Bridge Builders grants, and serves as a liaison principal and a principal mentor for other district principals.
Sayre will be honored at KASSP’s Summer Conference, June 20-22, 2007 at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort in Lexington and at the Principals’ Institute and Awards Banquet in Washington, D.C. this fall. |
